Lead Installer

Summary:

The Lead Installer will perform intermediate and advanced installation activities. They will lead a team of installers across various projects, ensuring all work aligns with installation and quality standards, including GR-1275 and NSTD119, as well as specific CBMA and customer requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Work with minimal supervision and be certified at Skill levels 1, 2, and 3.
2. Provide work assignments and leadership to Level 1, 2, 3, and 4 installers.
3. Input job status, issues, requests, and expenses into the Project Management platform.
4. Reconcile materials using web-based inventory control forms.
5. Understand project scope, customer expectations, profitability, and deadlines.
6. Manage all on-site aspects of the job, coordinating with the Installation Supervisor or Project Manager to ensure customer satisfaction.
7. Interface with the Installation Supervisor, Project Manager, and Engineering Department to resolve order issues, correct specifications, and record changes.
8. Maintain tools and monitor calibration requirements.
9. Perform hardware testing, including power verification, device provisioning, and system tests.
10. Ensure all work meets customer standards and internal quality benchmarks.

Credentials and Experience:

Minimum 5 years of Data Center/PoP/CO installation experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• At least 5 years of relevant installation experience.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Good mechanical aptitude and familiarity with power tools.
• Ability to adapt to different work environments.
• Knowledge of optical routing, fiber optic installation and testing, AC/DC power, and infrastructure setup.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet usage.
• Clean driving and criminal records, passing a drug test.

Special Requirements:

• Flexible work schedules, including all shifts.
• Periodic travel outside of the local area; 100% travel for some installers.

Physical Demands:

• Use hands extensively, climb ladders, work under raised floors, and handle heavy materials up to 50 pounds.
• Visual acuity for detailed work; ability to distinguish colors.
