Job summary

HiredFirst in Rochester, NY is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week contract to provide circulating and scrub nurse duties in the OR.

The role supports a wide range of specialties, including orthopedics, general, plastics, urology, cardiac, and trauma, with robotics (DaVinci) and Level 1 trauma experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Active NYS RN license is required.
• BLS certification (AHA) required; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years OR experience; Level 1 trauma preferred.
• Telemetry experience required; strong orthopedic/complex surgery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide circulating and scrub RN duties in OR setting.
• Support surgical services across ortho, general, plastics, urology, cardiac, neuro, vascular, ENT, GYN, thoracic, trauma, ophthalmic, OMFS.
• Assist with complex cases including transplants and robotics (DaVinci).
• Monitor telemetry and patient status during perioperative care.
• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams in Level 1 trauma environment.
• Ensure adherence to sterile technique, safety, and OR protocols.
• Participate in emergency and high-acuity surgical cases.

Contract Duration:

05/25/2026 – 08/22/2026 (13 weeks)

Schedule:

Full-Time

3x12-hour rotating shifts (Day/Evening/Night)

On-call & callback required

Floating, weekends, and holidays per unit needs

Position Summary & Responsibilities

Support surgical services: ortho, general, plastics, urology, cardiac, neuro, vascular, ENT, GYN, thoracic, trauma, ophthalmic, OMFS

Assist with complex cases including transplants (liver, kidney, heart) and robotics (DaVinci systems)

Monitor telemetry and patient status during perioperative care

Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams in Level 1 trauma environment

Ensure adherence to sterile technique, safety, and OR protocols

Participate in emergency and high-acuity surgical cases

Requirements

Active NYS Registered Nurse (RN) License (required)

BLS Certification (AHA only)

ACLS preferred

Minimum 2 years OR experience (Level 1 trauma preferred)

Ability to scrub and circulate required

Telemetry experience required

Strong orthopedic and complex surgical experience preferred

Comfortable in high-acuity, fast-paced surgical environment
