Gigantes Group is seeking experienced Low Voltage Technicians and Lead Technicians for commercial projects across the New York City metropolitan area. The role requires hands-on experience with structured cabling, fiber, and security systems.

Responsibilities include installing and testing Cat6/Cat6A, fiber, access control, CCTV, and related equipment, reading drawings, coordinating field activities, and mentoring junior technicians on active construction sites.

Qualifications

  • Commercial low-voltage or structured cabling experience.
  • Hands-on Cat6 or Cat6A installation and termination experience.
  • Experience with fiber, access control, CCTV or related systems.
  • Ability to understand technical drawings and installation documentation.
  • Confident using field tools and cable-testing equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Reliable, professional and committed to high-quality work.
  • Comfortable working on active construction sites and using ladders.
  • Able to travel to projects throughout the NYC metropolitan area.
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate and test Cat6, Cat6A, fiber and other low-voltage cabling.
  • Complete cable pulling, routing, labelling and dressing.
  • Install racks, cabinets, patch panels and cable-support systems.
  • Support access control, CCTV, intercom and related security installations.
  • Install wireless, network and selected audiovisual equipment.
  • Read floor plans, cable schedules and technical drawings.
  • Test completed cabling using Fluke or equivalent equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve installation problems.
  • Maintain accurate field reports and installation records.
  • Coordinate with project leadership, customers and other onsite trades.
  • Follow applicable safety requirements and maintain an organised work area.
  • Coordinate technicians and daily field activities.
  • Assign work and monitor installation progress.
  • Check completed work against drawings and quality standards.
  • Manage onsite materials and installation priorities.
  • Escalate technical or scheduling issues to project leadership.
  • Train and support less-experienced technicians.
  • Represent the field team during onsite coordination.

Gigantes Group is representing an established employer seeking Low Voltage Technicians and Lead Technicians for commercial projects throughout the New York City metropolitan area.

The position will suit someone with hands-on experience across structured cabling, fiber or electronic security systems. Applications are welcome from experienced mid-level technicians as well as individuals currently leading field teams.

Requirements

Compensation
  • $44–$56 per hour, depending on experience
