Job summary

Chenega Corporation is seeking an experienced Electronic Security Systems Technician III to support installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced security systems. The role covers access control, intrusion detection, CCTV, communications, and fiber optic networks in mission-critical environments.

You will ensure systems are operational, reliable, and compliant while collaborating with a skilled team of security technology professionals.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of non-residential electronic security installation and troubleshooting experience or equivalent
• LENEL OnGuard 7.3 Access Control Certification required
• Minimum of two active OEM certifications (e.g., CEIA, Smiths Detection, Morpho Detection, Panasonic CCTV etc.)
• OSHA 10 certification required
• Ability to meet customer and site access requirements
• Pass background and drug screening

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic security systems (PACS, IDS, CCTV)
• Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
• Coordinate with customers, contractors, and other trades
• Maintain documentation and comply with safety standards
• Perform system testing, commissioning, and verification

Summary

• Chenega is seeking an experienced Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Technician III to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced electronic security systems. This role is ideal for a skilled technician who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and working with access control, intrusion detection, CCTV, communications, and fiber optic systems in mission‑critical environments.

• You’ll play a key role in keeping security systems operational, reliable, and compliant while working alongside a talented team of security technology professionals.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic security systems, including:
• Access Control Systems (PACS)
• Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)
• CCTV and Video Recording Systems
• Intercom and Public Address Systems
• Fiber Optic Communication Networks
• Asset Tracking Systems
• Diagnose and resolve system, network, and equipment issues using industry‑standard testing and diagnostic tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling.
• Repair and maintain security devices, field equipment, and supporting infrastructure.
• Perform system testing, commissioning, and verification to ensure proper operation.
• Coordinate with customers, contractors, and other trades to support project requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all company, customer, and safety standards.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• One of the following:
• 8+ years of non‑residential electronic security installation and troubleshooting experience; or
• 6+ years of experience plus completion of a U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, or accredited electronics apprenticeship program; or
• 4+ years of experience with an Associate's degree in Electronics; or
• 2+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Electronics.
• LENEL OnGuard 7.3 Access Control Certification required.
• Minimum of two active OEM certifications, such as:
• CEIA
• Smiths Detection
• Morpho Detection
• Panasonic CCTV
• Pathminder
• Delta/Koei Vehicle Barrier
• Equivalent industry‑recognised certifications
• OSHA 10 certification required.
• Ability to meet all customer and site access requirements.
• Successfully pass background and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification.
• Experience supporting federal, critical infrastructure, or high‑security environments.
• Advanced experience with IP‑based security systems and networked security devices.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong understanding of access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and integrated security systems.
• Knowledge of electrical and low‑voltage installation practices.
• Proficiency with test equipment, including TDRs and OTDRs.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.

Work Environment

• The employee will normally work in a temperature‑controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
• During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

Estimated Salary/Wage
