Linamar Corporation in Fletcher, NC is seeking a Level 2 – Maintenance Semi Skilled professional to perform semi-skilled maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and systems tasks under supervision. You will support preventive maintenance, read schematics, and use precision tools to adjust components.

Responsibilities include maintaining oil and coolant inventories, operating a forklift, and collaborating with teammates to complete larger equipment overhauls.

Qualifications

• One to two years of experience in maintenance or related field.
• Capable of level 1 maintenance requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, structural, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools and basic CAD adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain systems and document preventive maintenance activities.
• Record coolant refractometer readings and top up machine oils.
• Manage oil and coolant inventory.
• Keep equipment safe and clean; operate a forklift.
• Support MMC L1 responsibilities and coordinate with team as needed.

Job Title: Level 2 – Maintenance Semi Skilled

Job Summary

Under direct supervision, perform semi-skilled maintenance and repair services on machines such as mechanical, electrical, and systems which do not require extensive specialization in one particular trade. Duties may increase in scope as the employee becomes more skilled, but the primary emphasis is the performance of a variety of maintenance tasks rather than a high degree of skill in any particular trade.

Responsibility

Maintain systems to track, report, document and assist with scheduled preventative maintenance. Record coolant refractometer readings, top up machine oils and record usage.

Manage oil and coolant inventory.

Maintain equipment in a safe and clean manner.

Operate a forklift.

Cover all MMC L1 responsibilities.

Other duties as assigned.

Academic/Educational Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.

Enrolled/Completed an Apprenticeship program, preferred

Required Skills/Experience

One to two years of experience.

Fully capable of level “1” maintenance requirements.

Ability to interpret and review schematic drawings of mechanical, structural, pneumatic and hydraulic systems to understand their operation and identify malfunctions.

Ability to use specialized measuring tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, angle finders, feeler gauges and dial indicators.

Ability to evaluate the condition of parts and equipment. Assess feasibility of designs for small modifications to equipment and machinery, sometimes in collaboration with co-workers and supervisors.

Ability to discuss work orders, equipment malfunctions and job task coordination with co-workers. Inform supervisors about work progress and seek guidance and approvals from them.

Ability to perform tasks independently under direct supervision. Also form teams with co-workers when necessary to install and overhaul larger pieces of equipment and complete industrial systems.

Ability to use computer-assisted design, manufacturing and machining, such as AutoCAD to make small adjustments to scale drawings to reflect modifications to tools and equipment components.

Maintain continuous learning by reading manuals and bulletins to stay up-to-date with new developments. Attend training workshops on new equipment and safety procedures as required.
