Job Description

Raptor IT Solutions is a fast-growing Rockwall-based, family-owned, and operated IT MSP. We are currently hiring a Level 2 Computer Technician to join our team. Our technicians are cross-trained to install phone systems, network drops, and cabling.

Our ideal applicant is well-versed in computer systems and network functions, with a diligent and problem-solving mindset to fix issues and ensure functionality. We are a client-facing company that frequently goes on-site, so effective communication and people skills are essential.

Position Information

• Full-time
• Location: Rockwall, Texas
• Some travel required, including out-of-state; travel expenses covered.
• Reliable transportation required; mileage compensated.
• Compensation: hourly, starting at $22/hour, based on experience.
• Full benefits after 90 days, including health insurance options, PTO, paid holidays, and continuing education.

Essential Functions

• Deep understanding of technical aspects.
• Installing and managing communication systems and networks.
• Experience with LAN/WAN networks, firewalls, switches, access points.
• Implementing privacy and data protection solutions.
• Proactively troubleshooting hardware, software, security, and network issues.
• Researching and resolving issues independently.
• Communicating solutions effectively to clients.
• Transporting and installing equipment, working in tight spaces.
• Physical activities including lifting up to 50 pounds, moving, and working in various positions.
• Continuous learning and working under pressure.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

• 2-4 years in IT support, preferably MSP environment.
• Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, Microsoft 365.
• Networking knowledge: firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, DHCP.
• Experience with RMM and PSA tools.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to provide on-site and remote support.
• Team-oriented attitude.
• Experience with phone installations (training provided).

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree or certifications like Microsoft, Dell, A+, Network+, Security+.
• Relevant job experience and familiarity with remote monitoring platforms.
• Scripting or automation skills.

Working Conditions

Work is primarily in climate-controlled, well-lit environments, both on-site and remote. Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting equipment up to 50 pounds, and working in various positions. Some after-hours and weekend work may be required.
