Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Department Leadership, the Laboratory Technician will perform testing and associated activities in the laboratory section where assigned.

Shift/Schedule: Monday - Friday, (3:00a - 11:30a)

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling, processing, and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Performs routine and complex laboratory testing
• Serve as a trainer, as needed.
• Adheres to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
• Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
• Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specification.
• Performs equipment and assay verifications, validation and equivalencies according to the approved plans.
• Participates in regulatory agency inspection readiness and onsite inspections.
• Communicates effectively and timely as needed to co-workers, management, medical directors, and other divisions.

TRAVEL AND HOURS
• This position is full-time
• No travel is required with this position

Education:
• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution; or
• Associate’s degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
