Job summary

Centurion Health seeks a Medication Aide Level 1 at Farmington Correctional Center in Farmington, Missouri for the Day shift. This full-time role administers prescribed medications and documents effectiveness and any adverse actions.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and preferred Level 1 Medication Aide certification (DHSS/DMH). Insulin certification is preferred; ongoing education and CPR/AED certification are required. Background checks and possible security clearance apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Level 1 Medication Aide certification preferred from DHSS/DMH.
• Insulin certification preferred.
• Continuing education: minimum four hours of medication administration training every two years; documented in Employee File.
• Maintain tuberculosis documentation and active CPR/AED certification.
• If not Level 1 certified, must complete internal Level 1 medication aide and insulin training to maintain employment beyond probation.
• Pass background investigation and obtain security clearance where applicable.
• One year experience in acute care, emergency or correctional setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of facility Director of Nursing, ensures medication administration is accurate and compliant with policy.

We are currently seeking a Medication Aide Level 1 to join our team at Farmington Correctional Center located in Farmington, Missouri.

The Medication Aide Level 1 (MO) Under the direction of the facility Director of Nursing / nursing designee, administers medications as prescribed; and documents the medication effectiveness and any noted adverse actions or side effects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.


• Preferred to have current active Level 1 Medication Aide certification from the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) or the Department of Mental Health (DMH) which may also be referred to as DD Medication Aide (mo.tmutest.com).


• Insulin certification preferred.


• Must complete required continuing education to maintain certification (minimum of four (4) hours of medication administration training every two (2) years). Required training will be documented and maintained in Employee File. Must maintain current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR/AED certification.


• If not already Level 1 Medication Aide certified – applicant must successfully complete internal level one medication aide and insulin training to maintain employment beyond probationary period.


• Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable.


• One year experience in acute care, emergency or correctional setting preferred.
