The MSU Information Security team aims to achieve university success through precision Information Security focused on risk management, engagement, and education.
Reporting directly to the Incident Response Supervisor, this role interfaces with MSU staff, focusing on triage of incoming tickets and requests. IT knowledge is essential for assisting with security concerns, processing eDiscovery requests, and escalating tickets as needed. The role involves handling minor security incidents, participating in planning sessions, and joining the weekly IR on-call rotation once trained.
Knowledge equivalent to a four-year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related IT field, with coursework in relevant specialization; 1-3 years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in System Administration, Active Directory, ticket management software, and familiarity with security concepts, Identity and Access Control, EDR/MDR platforms, log collection, and investigation. Customer service skills and teamwork ability are highly valued.
