Job summary

Amsive LLC is seeking a Lettershop Supervisor to lead the insert team in Bolingbrook, IL. You will direct an hourly workforce to meet quality, schedule, and budget requirements, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

3am – 3pm Sunday – Tuesday and every other Wednesday with expected overtime.

Pay

Starting at $26.00/hr based on skills and experience.

Summary/Objective

The Lettershop Supervisor is responsible for leading and directing the insert team. The supervisor leads an operations team of hourly employees within the mail inserting area to ensure the product meets quality, budgeted hours, materials, and output requirements. Responsibilities include ensuring products meet customer specifications, delivery requirements, schedule, and company policies; continuous improvement of methods, productivity, quality; and performing first‑piece/timed inspections on each product line. The supervisor also ensures employees stay compliant with safety and work procedures and informs managers of issues that may impact quality, schedules, costs, safety, and machine operation.

Essential Functions
  • Lead the Lettershop / Mail Inserting area.
  • Execute production schedules for the 1st shift insert area.
  • Communicate effectively with the Lettershop / Mail Inserting Manager.
  • Operate and maintain mail inserting equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment‑related issues.
  • Handle both cut‑sheet and roll paper stock jobs.
  • Collaborate with Prepress, Print, and Mail teams on imposition and workflow recommendations.
  • Follow written instructions in job tickets, general work instructions, and operating standards.
  • Perform production quality verifications per standard operating procedures.
  • Operate and set up inserting equipment, including cutting, accumulating, folding, and inserting.
  • Perform daily maintenance and assist with emergency maintenance specific to devices.
  • Verify production records/sequence steps on all variable jobs.
  • Complete departmental daily tasks including housekeeping, communications, and operations.
  • Enter job data in ERP for labor tracking, material usage, and productivity numbers.
  • Collaborate and assist department managers to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and in other departments as needed to meet goals.
  • Perform duties in compliance with company regulatory standards.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
  • 3+ years of continuous work experience (preferred in mail or print industry).
  • Effective process management and excellent communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; document regular activities and e‑mail correspondence.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure.
  • Ability to use common sense to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi‑task.
  • Aptitude for accuracy and meticulous eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Lead the Lettershop team and work closely with management.

Work Environment

Position operates in a regulated manufacturing print/mail production facility.

Physical Demands
  • Stand and walk for up to 12 hours, with frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive motions in a fast‑paced production environment.
Security Clearance

Amsive is a Federal Contractor, and this position may require government security clearance for certain projects.
