• Adhere to risk and regulatory standards; escalate risk issues to management when needed.

• Ensure internal controls and respond to audit findings and external regulatory requirements.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Job description

Overview:

Processes and supports Letter of Credit transactions in adherence to ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) guidelines to minimize risk to the Bank.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Process amendments of Commercial and/or Performance/Financial Standby Letters of Credit for customers in a timely and accurate manner.
• Provide cross-training assistance for less experienced staff; provide management feedback on progress of cross-training efforts.
• Participate as a member of letter of credit project teams as required.
• Identify fraudulently presented items through use of International Trade Finance (ITF) policies, procedures and controls.
• Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.
• Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities: Supervisor/Managerial Responsibilities:

Education and Experience Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 3 years’ work experience
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Education and Experience Preferred:

• International Trade Operations experience
• Commercial lending experience
• Knowledge of pertinent Bank systems

Pay Range:

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $22.61 - $37.67 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
