Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Scientist, Lentiviral Vector Downstream Process Development to lead scalable purification process development for cell therapy programs. You will optimize strategies, support technology transfer, and contribute to lifecycle management of products in our pipeline.

Responsibilities include designing studies, performing chromatography and filtration experiments, and collaborating with upstream, analytical, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust downstream processes.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical/Biochemical/biological sciences with 2–4 years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience with purification process development for biologics, cell and gene therapy, or viral vectors.
• Hands-on experience with chromatography, clarification, depth filtration, UF/DF, sterile filtration, and process scale-up.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute downstream process development studies for lentiviral products.
• Conduct purification experiments including chromatography, filtration, UF/DF, and formulation.
• Oversee operation and management of downstream equipment (AKTA, TFF, purification skids).
• Perform technology transfer to Johnson & Johnson’s manufacturing sites.
• Analyze process data with JMP, MiniTab, Python, Spotfire or similar tools.
