GENERAL FUNCTION

The Assistant Manager acts as a leader in the absence of, or in support of the Store Manager, behaving as a business owner within the marketplace and organization. Represents LensCrafters as the premier destination for all vision needs and delivers key performance metrics.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Achieve and improve key performance indicators (KPIs): sales, traffic, profitability, patient retention, Net Promoter Score, etc.
• Understand retail business dynamics to drive sales and market understanding.
• Support store business plans to maximize sales and profits.
• Partner with the store manager to lead and develop the team.
• Provide feedback and collaborate on staff development.
• Maintain store appearance and execute visual directives.
• Maintain positive relationships with doctors and staff.
• Ensure policy compliance.
• Perform administrative duties.
• Work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year of management/supervisory experience with direct reports.
• Knowledge of retail operations and policies.
• Strong math skills and familiarity with cash registers, computers, and calculators.
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Proven selling skills and problem-solving ability.

Preferred Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent.
• Leadership experience in retail or customer service.
• Knowledge of optics and store merchandise.
• State licensure or ABO Certification (if applicable).
• Brand Final Inspector Certification and related programs.
