General Function

The Assistant Manager acts as a leader in absence of, or in support of the Store Manager, behaving as a business owner within the marketplace & organization. Represents LensCrafters as the premier destination for all vision needs and delivers key performance metrics.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Delivers quality & improvements to exceed all KPIs: Comp Sales, % Sales to Plan, Conversion & Customer Count, Comp Growth, Increased Traffic, Store Operating Profitability, Continuity of Care, Exam Growth & Retention, Net Promoter Score, and objectives.
  2. Supports store business plans to maximize sales & profit.
  3. Partners with store manager to lead & develop team.
  4. Provides clear, constructive, and timely feedback & partners with Store Manager on development.
  5. Executes visual directives & maintains store appearance.
  6. Maintains positive relationships with doctors.
  7. Promotes team compliance with all policies.
  8. Performs administrative duties.
  9. Works a flexible schedule, including nights & weekends.
Basic Qualifications
  1. High School graduate or equivalent.
  2. 1+ year management/supervisory experience with direct reports.
  3. Knowledge of retail operations, processes & policies.
  4. Strong basic math skills.
  5. Familiarity with cash registers, computers & calculators.
  6. Proficiency in English for all written and oral communication.
  7. Strong communication & listening skills.
  8. High-level selling skills.
  9. Proven problem-solving ability.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. College degree or equivalent.
  2. Leadership experience in retail & customer service.
  3. Knowledge of basic optics.
  4. Knowledge of current store merchandise.
  5. State licensure or ABO Certification (if applicable).
  6. Brand Final Inspector Certification.
  7. Brand Quality, Fitting & Adjusting Program.
