Rochester Optical was established in Rochester, New York in 1932. At the time, the ownersaw a growing need for protective tactical eyewear for the Armed Forces, aircraft pilots, and police officers. Later, Rochester Optical became one of the country's few military prescription glasses frame manufacturersand supplied the Army and the Air Force with combat-ready ballistic eyewear for soldiers. After WWII, the tactical eyewear company expanded its services to include creating and selling prescription eyeglasses for the public. Rochester Optical quickly became one of the best glass frames and prescription eyeglass manufacturers in the area, producing many popular glass frame styles of the time with polarized tints.

Position Summary: The Lens Warehouse Team Leader's role is to accurately and efficiently select and prepare components to fulfill customer orders.

Essential Job Functions:

• Stock incoming items in inventory in an organized manner
• Pull product from bins or shelves, ensuring the accuracy of all orders
• Keep track of backorders
• Assist in maintaining the security and safety of the warehouse
• Inventory cycle counts
• Additional duties as directed

Skills & Abilities:

• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Self-motivated to take ownership of multiple tasks and work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team interacting with multiple departments
• Excellent organization, time-management, problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills
• Familiarity with ERP system/warehouse management system preferred
• Packing and labeling experience preferred
• Quality Assurance experience preferred
• Microsoft Office experience, including proficiency in Excel, preferred

Education & Experience:

• High School diploma or its equivalent
• At least one year of experience in an order picking/inventory/warehouse role
• Optical experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
• Ability to work for long periods of time while standing
• Frequent bending, standing, and stretching required
• Ability to perform repetitive motion with the hands and arms

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
