Job summary

Mountain America Credit Union seeks a Lending Training Specialist to onboard and educate team members in lending processes, underwriting guidelines, and MACU policies. The role focuses on developing and delivering training programs, creating content for knowledge centers, and guiding staff through loan origination systems.

You will work with stakeholders to identify skill gaps, deliver sessions both in person and remotely, and monitor progress with daily check-ins and metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field, or 3 additional combined years of experience in a progressive financial lending role.
• 5 years professional experience in a progressive financial setting, working in a lending setting preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of adult-learning theory and principles.

Responsibilities

• Train new and existing team members in all aspects of the lending industry and MACU policies and procedures.
• Facilitate training and ongoing education for lending products, underwriting guidelines, loan regulations, compliance, MACU loan programs, and procedure changes.
• Guide team members through company software and loan origination systems.
• Train to properly utilize systems for speed, accuracy, and ease of completing a loan application.
• Monitor, review, and report on progress of participants through daily check-ins, surveys and discussions with key managers to guide development direction.
• Understand the full loan process of origination, processing, underwriting, and closing of the lending area and assist with questions.
• Teach and support team members to build confidence and provide exceptional member service.
• Provide daily support for team members and act as a continuous resource of lending knowledge.
• Maintain professional relationships with team members, managers, and other business units.
• Prepare materials, equipment, facilities and all components of training program.
• Create, monitor, and update content on knowledge center and internal policies and programs.
• Consult with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and alignment with objectives.
• Collaborate with course designers to ensure consistent design of materials.
• Present information clearly to groups, in-person and remotely.
• Partner with stakeholders to assess skill gaps and create training programs and materials.
• Use reports and metrics to recommend improvements to training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
