Job summary

Iowa Senate Republican Caucus seeks a Legislative Analyst to perform research, develop complex analyses, and deliver concise synopses of policy issues under tight deadlines in a fast-paced Senate environment.

The role requires strong verbal and written communication, the ability to research and analyze legislation, and to manage relationships with elected officials and constituents. This is a full-time, year-round position on the Republican caucus staff.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree from an accredited university.
• Three years of professional legislative affairs experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of the legislative process and rules.

Responsibilities

• Research, analyze, and summarize complex legislation.
• Track bills and policy developments through the legislative process.
• Prepare briefings for Senators and stakeholders daily during session.
• Coordinate meetings and liaison with legislators and agencies.
