Job summary

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) seeks a Legislative Affairs Intern to support the Director of Policy and Government Affairs and the Government and Legislative Relations Specialist.

You will manage the legislative inquiry system, prepare briefings and internal documents, track legislation, attend House and Senate committee meetings, and conduct various research projects.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a full or part-time student in a college or university
• GPA of 2.0 or higher
• Eligibility to work in the United States; minimum age 18
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• General knowledge of Georgia's legislative process

Responsibilities

• Assist the Legislative Affairs team with day-to-day tasks and projects
• Help manage the legislative inquiry system and prepare internal documents
• Track and report on legislation and committee activity
• Attend House and Senate committee meetings and floor sessions as needed
• Conduct various research projects and support supervision on assignments
