Job summary

Prisma International, Inc. is seeking US-based professional legal translators to join our independent contractor team. You will provide written translation, editing and proofreading from English into your native language, with assignments based on availability.

Candidates must hold ATA or DSHS LTC certification, have two years' court translation experience, and be fluent in English and the target language. XTM CAT tool is provided; familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and MS Word is required.

Qualifications

• ATA or DSHS LTC certification in the target language pair.
• Proven expertise in legal terminology, judicial procedures and court forms.
• Adheres to ATA Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility.
• Two years of experience translating for U.S. state courts and judicial offices.
• Follows Prisma's Master Service Agreement (MSA).
• Fluent in English and the target language.
• Experience using CAT tools (XTM provided).
• Able to work on PC and MAC; proficient with MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, PDFs with fillable fields, and XML/text blocks.
• Reliable, secure internet connection.

Responsibilities

• Provide human-written translations using a CAT tool; machine translation not allowed.
• Follow project work instructions, glossaries and reference materials.
• Preserve source content's meaning, style, and register in the target language.
• Perform quality checks before delivery to ensure accuracy.
• Deliver completed jobs by deadlines and budgets.
• Review target PDFs for accuracy using Adobe markup tools.
• Communicate timely with Prisma team members.
• Participate in quality management processes (CARs, RCAs).
• Protect sensitive information (PHI, PII, SBU).
• Adhere to Prisma's MSA and Vendor Guide.
