Job summary

LHH, in partnership with a law firm, seeks a Legal Talent Development Manager to evolve and expand attorney development initiatives, building innovative learning and career strategies that support growth and success.

This highly collaborative role offers visibility across the firm, partnering with leadership, practice groups and talent professionals to drive impactful programs, mentoring, coaching, and data-informed improvements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in attorney development or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or J.D. preferred.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and collaboration skills.
  • Proven project management experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and best practices.
  • Interest in emerging legal industry trends, including AI and legal tech.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with practice group leaders to assess development needs and implement targeted training.
  • Design and manage curricula focused on substantive legal training and professional skills.
  • Develop experiential learning opportunities and technology-enabled training.
  • Research trends and integrate innovative approaches into development programs.
  • Support mentoring, sponsorship, and coaching initiatives.
  • Advise attorneys on career planning and advancement opportunities.
  • Analyze feedback to identify trends and improve offerings.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on firmwide development priorities.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members.

LHH is partnering with a law firm and we are seeking a Legal Talent Development Manager to play a key role in evolving and expanding our attorney development initiatives. This newly created position offers the opportunity to build upon existing programs while helping create innovative learning and career development strategies that support attorney growth and success.

This is a highly collaborative role with significant visibility across the firm, partnering closely with leadership, practice groups, and talent professionals to drive impactful development initiatives.

What You'll Do
  • Partner with practice group leaders to assess attorney development needs and implement targeted training and career development programs
  • Design and manage curricula focused on substantive legal training and professional skills development
  • Develop and execute experiential learning opportunities and technology-enabled training initiatives
  • Research emerging industry trends, including AI and other legal technologies, and integrate innovative approaches into attorney development programs
  • Support and enhance mentoring, sponsorship, and coaching initiatives
  • Advise and coach attorneys on career planning, professional development, and advancement opportunities
  • Analyze program feedback and evaluation data to identify trends and continuously improve development offerings
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on firmwide talent development priorities and strategic initiatives
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members while contributing to overall team success
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in attorney development, legal talent management, career advising, professional development, or a related field within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or J.D. preferred

  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and attorney development best practices
  • Interest in emerging legal industry trends, including AI and legal technology
