Job summary

The Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney's Office is seeking a full-time Legal Support Staff member to provide legal and administrative support to attorneys in the office. The role includes assisting with case creation, discovery, and docket support, along with regular communication with law enforcement, witnesses, and the public.

Starting compensation ranges from $33,000 to $38,000 annually, with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, two retirement programs, paid time

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Experience in a law office or prosecutor's setting is strongly preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, organize, and disclose discovery in line with office policies and court rules.
• Assist assigned attorneys with weekly court dockets and attend docket sessions.
• Input reports into the case management system accurately and promptly.
• Coordinate with law enforcement to obtain reports and supplemental information.
• Handle phone calls and emails professionally and timely.
• Support witnesses with subpoenas and court appearances; manage case documents.
