Job summary

Jobtailor in Phoenix is seeking a capable Victim Services support clerk to manage case preparation, document handling, data entry, and communications related to Victim Rights statutes. You will review documents, answer calls, and assist with board meetings and reporting in a high-volume environment.

The role requires bilingual communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work with sensitive information while supporting victims and collaborating with staff across departments.

Qualifications

  • One year of experience performing specialized clerical duties.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Post-secondary education may substitute for the minimum experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license upon hire.
  • Must pass a thorough background check.
  • May be subject to drug testing after an offer and before placement.
  • Clerical experience in a law office, judicial, or law enforcement environment valued.
  • Customer service experience in a law office, judicial, or law enforcement environment valued.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in both English and Spanish valued.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods at a desk/computer.
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and perform duties at 90% accuracy.
  • Ability to travel to various county locations for meetings and trainings using a personal or county vehicle
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move items weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work with graphic and violent materials

Responsibilities

  • Support crime victims as part of the Victim Services team.
  • Prepare cases for assignment and generate case-related documents.
  • Retrieve and distribute database reminders.
  • Review and interpret court documents, including minute entries and court orders.
  • Generate notifications required by Victims’Rights statutes.
  • Answer division incoming calls, route calls, take detailed messages, and return calls.
  • Provide coverage of the main reception desk.
  • Collect and track statistical data.
  • Enter and retrieve case information from various databases.
  • Research case-related information using police reports, case forms, and court documents.
  • Respond to victim inquiries in coordination with Victim Services staff.
  • Prepare, process, and upload Post-Conviction forms.
  • Process and document Victim Information Forms.
  • Assist with redaction.
  • Assemble packets for mailing and assist with incoming mail distribution.
  • Process Victim Compensation Delinquency claims and applications.
  • Enter applications into a specialized data system and create/assign Victim Compensation cases.
  • Attend and set up monthly Victim Compensation Board meetings and record decisions.
  • Maintain compliance with Victim Compensation Program rules.
  • Prepare Victim Compensation Board minutes and update/post Public Notice.
  • Comply with grant requirements and meet programmatic deadlines.
  • Work in the presence of or with a trained canine that comforts victims.
