Job summary

iManage is seeking a Legal Solutions Advisor to lead risk governance and compliance strategy for enterprise customers, translating regulatory needs into platform roadmaps and deployment architectures.

You will collaborate with Sales, Pre-Sales, Product, and Customer Success, advising on governance, AI governance in legal, and knowledge security to enable successful customer transformations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in legal operations, compliance, risk management, governance, or technology roles at law firms or legal tech/GRC vendors.
• Deep expertise in governance frameworks, compliance automation, regulatory reporting, and risk orchestration in professional services environments.
• Technical fluency with SaaS platforms, APIs, data architecture, audit trails, and system integration.
• Demonstrated ability to translate regulatory requirements including SOX, GDPR, data privacy into technology strategies.
• Familiarity with legal workflows related to conflicts management, client intake, matter risk assessment, access controls.
• Experience advising senior legal audiences—from risk and compliance officers to General Counsels—on technology implementations.
• Ability to operate at intersection of business, tech, and compliance with cross-functional alignment.
• Exceptional communication skills: presenting to boards, authoring policy, distilling risk concepts.

Being a Legal Solutions Advisor (Compliance & Risk) at iManage

You bring the operational credibility of someone who has run compliance, risk, and technology functions at a law firm. You translate that lived experience into strategic advice for customers, our product roadmap, and our go-to-market approach. You are part trusted counsel—advising deals and customer transformations—part technical guide translating governance frameworks into platform capabilities, and part thought leader shaping how the market thinks about risk, compliance, and AI governance in legal. Your influence runs across Sales, Pre-Sales, Product, and Customer Success, and your voice carries weight because you have built and managed these systems.

iMResponsible For...

• Advising enterprise customers on risk governance strategies, compliance frameworks, and technology implementation by translating regulatory requirements into platform roadmaps and deployment architectures.
• Partnering with Sales and Pre-Sales to articulate how iManage addresses organization-wide risk orchestration, particularly for complex structures such as multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional, and enterprise legal operations.
• Working in close collaboration with our Portfolio Marketing team to define and deliver messaging and market intelligence on related risk and compliance initiatives.
• Representing iManage as a credible authority on legal tech compliance and risk management at industry conferences, client advisory boards, and regulatory forums.
• Authoring or co-authoring thought leadership on risk governance, AI governance in legal, compliance automation, and knowledge security in professional services.
• Working closely with Product Management to evaluate feature prioritization and roadmap decisions against customer risk and compliance requirements, especially as they relate to access controls, audit trails, knowledge governance, and data residency.
• Enabling internal teams—Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Support—by translating regulatory nuance and technical risk into actionable sales narratives and implementation strategies.
• Supporting customer advisory boards and early access programs to validate how iManage serves evolving risk and compliance needs.
• Participating in strategic deal conversations as a trusted advisor, helping customers map governance requirements to iManage capabilities and identifying implementation complexity early.

iMQualified Because I Have...

• 7+ years of experience in legal operations, compliance, risk management, governance, or technology roles at law firms or legal technology/GRC vendors, ideally having supported or reported directly to a Chief Risk Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, or Chief Information Security Officer.
• Deep expertise in governance frameworks, compliance automation, regulatory reporting, and risk orchestration in professional services environments.
• Technical fluency with SaaS platforms, APIs, data architecture, audit trails, and system integration.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex regulatory requirements including SOX, GDPR, data privacy, regulatory exams, and ethical walls into technology strategies and process design.
• Demonstrable familiarity with legal workflows related to conflicts management, client intake, matter risk assessment, access controls, and knowledge security.
• A track record of advising senior legal audiences—from risk and compliance officers to General Counsels and Managing Partners—on technology implementation and transformation.
• Proven ability to operate at the intersection of business, technology, and compliance by building cross-functional alignment between operational teams, technology teams, and executive leadership.
• Exceptional communication skills: comfortable presenting to boards and regulators, authoring technical frameworks and policy, and distilling complex risk concepts for diverse audiences.

Bonus Points If I Have...

• Experience designing or implementing organization-wide compliance technology platforms or governance frameworks.
• Published thought leadership on compliance technology, legal tech governance, or risk management.
• Background advising professional service firms on AI governance, generative AI policy, or data security strategy.
• Experience working with SaaS vendors as a customer including procurement, implementation, and integration oversight.
• Track record as a public speaker or panelist on compliance, governance, or legal tech topics.

The overall US annual base salary range for this position is $180,000 - $230,000 per year. Individual compensation for each candidate depends on factors such as qualifications, experience, and candidate location. This range does not include additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses, commission, or benefits.
