If this sounds like you, then you might be the ideal candidate for Legal Secretary in our Louisville TrialOffice of the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy.
In this important role in Kentucky's largest criminal defense firm, you will be acting as both a liaisonbetween attorneys, clients, and other members of the community. You will also be expected to draft and edit avariety of documents, so excellent communication skills - both written and verbal. Timemanagement skills are also valued as the ideal candidate will be handling multiple time-sensitive tasks forvarious attorneys, and the ideal candidate will be able to prioritize and complete requested dutiesindependently.
Knowledge of programs like Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Courtnet, and other courtrelated platforms is preferred.

A pleasant, outgoing personality both in-person and on the phone are also highly desirable traits for thisposition.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :
EDUCATION : High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS : Four years of clerical experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE : Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION : Clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.) : NONE
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
