Job summary

Fredrikson & Byron, a premier Midwest law firm, seeks a Research Librarian to join the Research & Knowledge Management team and deliver high-impact legal and business research to attorneys and staff. You will use AI-enabled tools such as Westlaw Deep Research, CoCounsel, and Harvey to produce accurate, well-supported responses.

Responsibilities include handling research requests, training colleagues, and maintaining intranet resources for effective research use.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited institution required.
Three to five years of experience providing legal and business research support and training in a law firm or law library.
Demonstrated proficiency with a broad range of legal, regulatory, company, and business intelligence resources.
Hands-on experience with enterprise AI platforms and prompt engineering.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

Conduct legal and business research and synthesize information into clear, well-supported responses.
Utilize AI-enabled research tools and emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and analysis.
Assist in applying AI-assisted research best practices and evaluate AI outputs.
Manage research requests through the ticketing system and route to team members as needed.
Produce customized research deliverables and summaries for internal clients.
