Job summary

Fredrikson & Byron is seeking a Research Librarian to join our Research & Knowledge Management team, delivering high-impact legal and business research support to attorneys and staff. You will leverage AI-enabled tools such as Westlaw Deep Research, CoCounsel, and Harvey, ensuring responsible AI use and training across the firm.

You will manage research requests, generate tailored deliverables, contribute to alerts, and help advance knowledge management initiatives in a fast-paced professional

Qualifications

• MLIS from an ALA-accredited program.
• 3–5 years of legal/business research experience in a law firm or law library.
• Proficiency with Westlaw, Bloomberg, VitalLaw, PACER, Case Portal, Courthouse News, Capital IQ and similar platforms.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise AI platforms; demonstrated prompt engineering.
• Ability to synthesize information from authoritative sources into clear, well-supported responses.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; experience developing training materials.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal and business research of varying complexity and synthesize findings.
• Use AI-enabled tools and validate outputs with sound judgment.
• Assist in AI-assisted research best practices and tool selection.
• Manage research requests via the department's ticketing system.
• Produce customized research deliverables and reports for internal clients.
• Collaborate on maintaining current awareness and docket alerts; contribute to RKM initiatives.
