Job summary

Baker Donelson is hiring a Legal Research Analyst to provide expert research support across legal and legislative databases, partnering with attorneys, paralegals, and business services teams. The role emphasizes delivering precise answers under tight deadlines and shaping firm-wide research tools and resources.

The Analyst will manage a varied caseload, produce firmwide insights, pilot new products, and train colleagues to improve research fluency, reporting to the Director of Knowledge

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher required; MLS and/or JD strongly preferred.
Minimum of 5+ years of progressive legal reference and research experience.
Proficiency across major legal research databases and software.
Ability to translate complex research into actionable guidance for attorneys.

Responsibilities

Deliver expert research and reference support to attorneys and staff using appropriate databases and materials.
Own full lifecycle of reference inquiries, including self-assigning requests and documenting results.
Create and maintain research resources, newsletters, alerts, and legislative tracking.
Train attorneys and staff on best use of research materials and databases.
