Job summary

Dow is seeking a part-time student co-op to provide administrative, records, and operational support to paralegals, lawyers, and other legal professionals in Dow Legal, with emphasis on Innovation Law activities.

The role requires accurate work, reliable task completion, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Eligible students must be enrolled near the Midland site and commit to at least one full calendar year, working up to 16 hours per week during school terms.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail in legal documents, records, and filing.
• Strong organization and time-management to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to follow directions and seek guidance when needed.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with appropriate supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage shared mailbox communications and route client requests.
• Prepare draft letters and documents using templates.
• Search for patent references and assist with patent-related administrative tasks.
• Maintain patent filing systems, electronic records, and documentation.
• Process mail and coordinate records storage, retrieval, scanning, and electronic filing.
• Obtain signatures and prepare documents for shipping.
• Support day-to-day office operations (phones, supplies, printers).
• Assist with special projects and other legal/administrative tasks.
