Job summary

Smart IMS Inc. is seeking a part-time Legal Manager, Clinical Contracts to remotely support the client’s clinical trial pipeline.

The role involves drafting, negotiating, and executing global clinical trial agreements, with administration support to the legal contracting team. Qualified candidates have a JD, bar licensure, and at least five years of high-volume agreement experience, plus strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience drafting and negotiating high volumes of clinical trial agreements (US and non-US).
• Superior analytical skills.
• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments and collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate high volumes of clinical trial agreements (US and non-US).
• Provide support in internal and external stakeholder meetings.
• Assist in analytics and metrics reporting for clinical agreements.
• Assist data management of emails in the central inbox.
• Organize and file clinical agreements and amendments in SharePoint.
• Manage execution tracking of clinical agreements (DocuSign and hard copy where applicable).

Job Description:

• The Clinical Contracting Position will provide global clinical trial agreement drafting, negotiation and execution support to the clinical contracting team of the Legal Department in support of Client’s clinical trial pipeline. The role will also provide administrative support to the team as needed.
• Assist and participate as needed in internal and external stakeholder meetings.
• Assist in implementing and managing reporting of analytics and metrics with regard to clinical agreements.
• Assist in data management of data points from the review and filing of emails in central email inbox.
• Assist in organization and filing of clinical agreements and relevant amendments in SharePoint.
• Assist in management and tracking of execution process of high volume of clinical agreements from initial preparation through to execution (including DocuSign and hard copy, where applicable).
• Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned, to support the clinical contracting team.

Required Skills, Experiences, Education and Competencies:

• JD degree and up to date bar admittance and current license
• Minimum of five years’ experience in drafting and negotiation of high volume of US and Ex-US clinical trial agreements, and contract management.
• Superior analytical skills

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $60.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
