Job summary

Legaledge in Chicago seeks a senior legal engineer to translate statutes, case law, and regulatory requirements into machine-executable logic.

You will collaborate with engineers to identify edge cases, maintain a knowledge base of legal rules, and ensure generated documents meet court filing requirements, all while working in a hybrid model with 2-3 days in the Chicago office.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois bar membership (or willingness to obtain)
• 10+ years of legal practice, preferably estate planning or trusts
• Deep understanding of legal reasoning and statutory interpretation
• Ability to break down complex legal rules into logical components
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Comfort working with engineers and technical systems
• Bonus: experience in legal tech or document automation

Compensation

$130,000 - $160,000
