Lawyer who'd rather build than bill? Shape legal products that founders actually use.
A seed-stage legal-tech startup in San Francisco gives startups always-on legal support: lawyers on call, plus an AI platform that maps employment law across all 50 states, generates documents and workflows, and flags legal-health issues before they become problems. It's growing fast and is already well into seven figures in revenue. You'd be the link between customers, lawyers and engineers.
What you'll own
- Onboarding and customisation calls with startup clients
- Tailored legal workflows for each client (commercial contracts come up a lot), set up fast with the in-house LLM tools
- Scoping tickets for engineering, then owning delivery, testing and output quality
- Room to grow into head of legal engineering or a forward-deployed customer lead
Must-haves
- A JD (strongly preferred), or real legal experience at a startup or in-house
- Product-minded: you've scoped, shipped and owned a legal workflow or product, and can explain it in plain words
- Experience at a startup or a very early-stage team; this isn't a role with a playbook handed to you
- At least 3 years of experience
- Working from the San Francisco office, 9-9-5
Bonus points
- PM, solutions or legal-ops experience at a legal-tech or legal-AI company
- Ex-founder or very early employee
- Daily use of AI tools, and repeatable processes you built after doing a task once
What's in it for you
- $185k–$225k base + 0.1–0.5% equity
- A blank canvas at a small, fast-growing team
- Flights covered for the on-site, and quick decisions
Good to know
- Full-time, on-site in San Francisco, 9-9-5; no production coding required
- Sponsorship is limited (US citizens, green card holders, H-1B, O-1, TN); please share your exact status
- Process: intro call with the CEO legal interview product and workflow conversation (possibly a short assignment) on-site offer
