Position Summary :

TAZ Capital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced In-House Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team remotely from Sri Lanka. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support and guidance on all matters related to the company’s operations. This includes contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, risk management, and corporate governance. The In-House Legal Counsel will work closely with senior management and various departments to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities :

• Legal Advisory : Provide expert legal advice and support on a wide range of corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
• Contract Management : Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize various contracts, including client agreements, vendor contracts, employment contracts, and partnership agreements.
• Regulatory Compliance : Ensure the company complies with all relevant laws and regulations in the jurisdictions in which it operates, with a focus on the UK, Singapore, and the UAE.
• Risk Management : Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with the company’s operations and transactions.
• Corporate Governance : Advise on corporate governance matters and ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
• Dispute Resolution : Manage and resolve legal disputes and litigation involving the company. Represent the company in litigation and arbitration proceedings.
• Stakeholder Collaboration : Work closely with senior management, finance, HR, and other departments to provide legal support and guidance.
• Training and Education : Conduct training sessions for staff on legal and regulatory compliance matters.

Qualifications and Experience :

• Qualified with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience.
• Strong background in corporate and commercial law, preferably within the financial services or advisory sector.
• In-depth knowledge of UK, Singapore, and UAE legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven experience in contract negotiation, drafting, and management.
• Experience in representing a company in litigation and arbitration proceedings.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Ability to work from home effectively.
