Role Overview

LEGAL COUNSEL, DISPUTES RESOLUTION

What You Will Be Working On

The Legal, Disputes Resolution Division (LDR) provides legal services to various LTA divisions on dispute-related matters, including commercial disputes in contracts, IT infrastructure, construction, insolvency, and tort law. As part of the team, you will handle contentious matters of national and public interest, working closely with policy and operations divisions to advise on regulatory, legal, and operational issues related to claims involving LTA. You will need to be commercially sound in addressing legal contentious issues in land transport regulation and infrastructure development.

Responsibilities

• Research, prepare, and provide legal advice on LTA’s legal risks, rights, and obligations.
• Draft contracts (including settlement agreements) and other legal documents.
• Assist in investigating claims or circumstances that may give rise to claims against LTA.
• Advise on measures to minimize or mitigate LTA’s potential liabilities.
• Coordinate with external lawyers on dispute resolution matters.
• Develop internal legal and risk management training for LTA divisions.
• Provide regular case reports to management.

Candidate Profile

• Legal qualification (LLB) and qualified under the Legal Profession Act or called to the Singapore Bar.
• Proactive, solution-oriented, and service-minded.
• Positive attitude, self-motivated, willing to learn, collaborative, and a team player.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in disputes practice, especially in construction disputes, is a plus.
