Job summary

Trove Brands, a private house of brands including BlenderBottle, Owala, Whiskware, and Eco-Brite, seeks an in-house attorney to provide proactive legal guidance across business units. The role emphasizes entrepreneurial judgment, strategic risk assessment, and collaboration with a dynamic legal team.

The ideal candidate will have a JD from a U.S. law school, Utah Bar admission (or eligibility), 3–7 years of relevant experience, and strong negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Member of the Utah State Bar in good standing or eligible for admission as House Counsel in Utah.
• 3-7 years of relevant post-law school legal experience.
• Excellent negotiation, written and verbal communication, and research skills.
• Deadline driven, capable of managing multiple critical projects; excellent organization and time management skills.
• Quick thinking with superior analytical ability and strong attention to detail.
• Robust computer skills including the use of legal AI tools.
• A can-do team player who stays professional, calm, and focused under pressure and builds trust and respect with key stakeholders.
• Strong record of sound business judgment advising internal clients under tight time-frames.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and outside counsel.
• Assess, manage, and anticipate organizational risk and support the company’s business with prompt, sound legal advice.
• Identify emerging legal, reputational, competitive, and commercial risks and help the business address them proactively.
• Contribute to process improvement and scalable legal practices appropriate for a rapidly growing company.
• Stay on top of changing laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Develop and implement practices and standards that support innovation and growth while maintaining appropriate commercial risk.
• Communicate potential issues clearly and concisely to stakeholders and drive timely, practical resolution.
• Exercise sound judgment and appropriate discretion in handling sensitive, confidential, and high-stakes matters.
• Other responsibilities as needed to support a fast-paced, innovative company.

As Legal Counsel, you will provide creative, practical, and proactive legal guidance as part of a dynamic, highly engaged legal team that loves working at Trove Brands. The right person for this role must have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, excellent judgment, and a desire to contribute to a constantly evolving, rapidly growing business. Your specific responsibilities as a part of our team will be based on the business’s needs as well as your expertise. Title will be determined based on level of experience.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in one or more of the following areas with the ability to work independently with minimal guidance:
  • Domestic and international privacy laws and practices.
  • Product safety, product liability or children’s products.
  • Regulatory compliance, statutory reporting or sustainability.
  • Commercial contracts related to sales, marketing, supply chain, as well as other company agreements.
  • Corporate litigation defense.
  • Trademark, copyright or patent enforcement.
  • Anti-counterfeit and online marketplace enforcement.
  • International expansion and global corporate governance.
• Experience providing legal services to a consumer products company
