Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys handling Workers' Compensation and Personal Injury matters.
- Answer incoming client calls and provide professional, compassionate customer service.
- Process incoming mail, scan documents, and maintain organized electronic case files.
- Manage attorney calendars and monitor litigation and statutory deadlines.
- Schedule medical appointments and communicate appointment details to clients.
- Follow up with medical providers, insurance adjusters, and outside counsel to obtain records and reports.
- Draft legal correspondence, pleadings, and other case-related documents.
- Organize medical records and prepare record summaries.
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case updates and information requests.
- Assist with gathering documents and information needed to move cases forward.
- Ensure deadlines are met while managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of legal assistant experience in California.
- Experience in Workers' Compensation, Personal Injury, or civil litigation preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
- Strong legal writing and document drafting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Clio or other legal case management software is a plus.
