Job summary

Qualifications

  • Five years of litigation legal assistant experience preferred.
  • Proficient with state and federal e-filings (Pacer Pro).
  • Proficient in litigation calendaring and scheduling.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with document formatting and courtroom procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare legal documents, memoranda, and correspondence from draft.
  • E-filing in state and federal courts across multiple states; coordinate filing and service of documents.
  • Create, edit, format and proofread documents, spreadsheets, and presentations with accuracy.
  • Generate pleadings and briefs with advanced Word formatting.
  • Manage workflow of tasks and deadlines, coordinating with support services.
  • Assist with client financial records, accounting, and reporting requirements.
  • Manage litigation calendars, deadlines, hearings, and trial dates; coordinate with counsel and courts.
  • Submit for and maintain Bar and Court Admissions.
  • Track attorney Continuing Legal Education (CLE).
  • Perform other advanced clerical duties as assigned.

Bradley is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support our Tampa litigation team. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with attorneys handling sophisticated litigation matters. The Legal Assistant will provide litigation and legal administrative support to attorneys in the Tampa office. The Legal Assistant will work directly with the litigation team to provide a high level of service to internal and external clients. The successful candidate will have experience supporting attorneys in a litigation environment and be comfortable with tasks such as court filings, calendaring, managing deadlines, preparing and formatting legal documents, and assisting with the day-to-day needs of a litigation practice. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, punctual, organized, and has strong communication and computer skills. Bradley provides in-house training to support employees in developing the skills needed to perform the essential functions of the role. This position offers a hybrid work schedule after 90 days of employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing legal documents, memoranda, and correspondence from draft.
  • E-fling in both State and Federal Courts in multiple states Coordinate the timely filing, service, and transmission of legal documents and correspondence to courts, clients, counsel, witnesses, and other parties.
  • Create, edit, format and proofread documents, spreadsheets, and presentations with the highest level of accuracy and diligence.
  • Generate pleadings and briefs with the ability to perform extensive formatting, styling, and editing documents using advanced features of Word including Tables of Contents, Tables of Authorities, Cross-referencing, and Track Changes.
  • Manage workflow of assigned tasks and projects, prioritizing incoming tasks to meet deadlines and coordinate with other support services to complete work.
  • Assist with management of client financial records, accounting, and reporting requirements.
  • Manage litigation calendars, including court deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial dates; coordinate scheduling with counsel, clients, courts, and vendors; and assist attorneys with hearing and trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, pleadings, filings, and other case materials.
  • Submit for and maintain, Bar and Court Admissions.
  • Track attorney Continuing Legal Education.
  • Other advanced clerical tasks and related duties, as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • A minimum of five (5) years litigation legal assistant experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Federal and State Court e-filings; Pacer Pro.
  • Proficient in litigation calendaring and scheduling.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Must exhibit a high degree of initiative in managing multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-drive, detail-oriented work environment utilizing excellent judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Embrace technology and seek knowledge to improve efficiency and quality of work.
  • Advanced computer skills including knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point as well as specific law firm programs.
  • Familiarization with basic graphics and picture manipulation, including resizing, copying, and pasting functions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability and desire to train and mentor others.
  • Typing accuracy, ability to proofread with an attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong client service focus and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision, while functioning effectively as part of a team.
  • Various physical activities may be required.
