Qualifications

Base pay range

$70,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

Position Overview

Our client, a prestigious law firm, is seeking a Legal Assistant to join their team!

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Draft pleadings to initiate estate and guardianship court proceedings.
  2. Maintain and organize files for estate, trust, and guardianship administration.
  3. Review estate planning documents, wills, and trusts.
  4. Prepare trust administration documents, including trustee acceptances, resignations, and declinations.
  5. Compile trust and estate accounting reports.
  6. Draft memorandums and correspondence.
  7. Facilitate communication between attorneys, clients, beneficiaries, and family members.
  8. Oversee trust and estate accounts, ensuring timely payment of expenses.
  9. Research asset and debt details related to trusts and estates.
  10. Prepare documents for deeds, vehicle transfers, brokerage accounts, and beneficiary distributions.
  11. Organize documents for estate, trust, and gift tax returns.
  12. Assist in the preparation of tax returns.
  13. Conduct legal research for estate and guardianship matters.
  14. Identify and locate trust or estate beneficiaries as needed.
Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or GED required; a degree in Business Administration is preferred.
  2. At least three (3) years of experience as a Legal Assistant.
  3. Expertise in probate, trust administration, and estate settlement processes.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
  5. Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  7. Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage time efficiently.
  8. A collaborative team player with a positive, cooperative attitude.
