LHH is partnering with a Chicago-area litigation-focused law firm to recruit an experienced Legal Assistant. You will provide high-level support to attorneys in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities while delivering precise work product.

The role requires extensive law firm experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting a busy litigation practice.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience supporting attorneys in a law firm environment.
  • Extensive experience with Federal, State, and Appellate Court e-filing procedures.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, revise, proofread, and finalize legal documents and correspondence.
  • Format pleadings, briefs, motions, and other legal filings.
  • Coordinate and manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and scheduling.
  • Prepare and coordinate e-filings in Federal, State, and Appellate Courts.
  • Manage service of process and coordinate with local counsel as needed.
  • Organize and maintain electronic case files and related documentation.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple assignments, cases, and projects simultaneously.
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court documents.
  • Support attorneys with administrative and case management functions.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality control across all legal documents and filings.

Legal Assistant

Location: Chicago, IL

Salary: $60,000 - $85,000, depending on experience and qualifications

LHH is working with a respected litigation-focused law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to providehigh-level support to attorneys in a fast-paced practice. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys managing multiple priorities while delivering exceptional work product.

The successful candidate will have extensive law firm experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting a busy litigation practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, revise, proofread, and finalize legal documents and correspondence
  • Format pleadings, briefs, motions, and other legal filings
  • Coordinate and manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and scheduling
  • Prepare and coordinate e-filings in Federal, State, and Appellate Courts

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and court rules
  • Familiarity with medical terminology preferred
  • Ability to review and analyze legal documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Team-oriented mindset and strong interpersonal skills
