Green Key is partnering with an established organization to identify a Legal Assistant to join its Legal team in Bethesda, MD. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career legal professional who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and interested in gaining broad exposure to corporate, regulatory, licensing, compliance, and litigation support.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing documentation, tracking deadlines, conducting basic research, and communicating with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and legal support across corporate, regulatory, licensing, compliance, and litigation matters.
- Conduct basic legal, regulatory, licensing, and compliance research.
- Coordinate document collection and maintain organized legal and compliance records.
- Track legal deadlines, filings, renewals, and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders, outside counsel, vendors, and government agencies regarding routine legal matters.
- Maintain legal files, corporate records, matter documentation, and department databases.
- Support licensing and regulatory compliance activities, including applications, renewals, and required submissions.
- Prepare and organize routine legal forms, correspondence, agreements, certifications, and other legal documents using established templates.
- Review documents for completeness and accuracy before distribution or filing.
- Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and tracking systems.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Provide general administrative support to the Legal Department as needed.
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in a legal assistant, junior paralegal, administrative, corporate, law office, records, or related support role.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
- Experience with document management, records management, or deadline tracking preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.
- Comfortable working with internal teams, external partners, and government agencies.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
- Strong follow-through and willingness to ask questions and learn.
- Certified Paralegal designation is a plus.
