Job summary

The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Analyst to provide on-site legal and organizational support in Indianapolis. You will assist counsel with foreclosures, bankruptcies, lien releases, contract drafting, and case file management, while maintaining SharePoint contracts data.

This 3-month contract requires Indiana residency, strong Word/SharePoint skills, and precise legal research.

Qualifications

Associate's/Bachelor's degree (Paralegal) or 2+ years legal support experience.
Residency in Indiana with on-site commute to Indianapolis.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word; solid Excel and SharePoint skills.
Strong legal research skills, high attention to detail, ability to handle confidential records.

Responsibilities

Legal Response Preparation: Assist Legal Counsel in drafting and preparing responses to foreclosure actions, bankruptcy actions, mortgage/lien releases, and other formal legal process requests.
Case & Sale Tracking: Monitor and track the status of active foreclosure cases and Sheriff's sales involving IHCDA.
Contract & Document Drafting: Prepare legal documents, draft initial contracts, amendments, internal reports, and correspondence for court officials, outside counsel, and program stakeholders.
Database & File Management: Maintain, review, and update the SharePoint contracts database; organize confidential case and project files.
E-Filing & Transmittal: Transmit legal correspondence and court filings via electronic filing systems, mail, fax, or messenger.
Special Projects: Coordinate meetings, track progress, conduct records/legal research, and analyze incoming legal department mail.
