Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, a leading global law firm, is seeking a Legal Administrative Specialist to support the IP - Trademark/Copyright Practice Group in Washington, DC. Reporting to the Administrative Support Manager, you will provide a broad range of administrative and document processing support with a focus on client service.

The role requires seven years of admin experience, a Bachelor’s degree is a plus, and prior law firm exposure.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF software.

Responsibilities

  • Support IP - Trademark/Copyright Practice Group with administrative, secretarial and document processing duties.
  • Utilize task delegation and workflow software (BigHand) for timely workload management and deadlines.
  • Draft, edit and format correspondence, memos, and reports; ensure quality and firm standards.
  • Screen client communications and maintain a high level of internal/external service.
  • Coordinate meetings, conferences, and attorney calendars; manage travel itineraries.

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking a Legal Administrative Specialist (LAS) to support the IP- Trademark/Copyright Practice Group. Reporting to the Administrative Support Manager this position will be responsible for providing a broad range of administrative, secretarial and document processing support with guidance to the assigned Practice Group in an environment where superior client service is emphasized and practiced. Legal Administrative Specialist (LAS)
Responsibilities
  • Regularly utilize Task Delegation and Workflow Management software (BigHand) maintaining clear communication with team members regarding task status, priorities, workload distribution, and deadlines to support seamless workflow execution.
  • Experienced in supporting matters, including preparing court filings, coordinating case documents, an utilizing e-filing platforms.
  • Draft, edit, proofread and redline correspondence, memoranda, reports, and other legal business communications; prepare and maintain recurring reports; and ensure all work products meet established quality, accuracy, formatting, and firm standards
  • Demonstrates a high level of internal and external client service; screens communication and responds promptly in a clear, concise, professional, and accurate manner.
  • Coordinates meetings; arranges audio and video conferences; reserves conference rooms and arranges set-up.
  • Maintains attorney calendar and advises attorney of appointments, updates attorney address book and InterAction entries.
  • Assist with time entry, the billing process includes proforma delivery, narrative edits and customized reports.
  • Processes new business intake, related forms, and correspondence.
  • Arranges travel and prepares itineraries; maintains attorney travel and desk profiles.
  • Maintains electronic and/or physical files, calendars, correspondence, and collaborative workspaces; creates and maintains binders.
  • Provides legal research, case support and project assistance.
Qualifications
  • At least seven (7) years of administrative support experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree a plus.
  • Previous law firm experience required.
  • Demonstrates excellence in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and Portable document Format (PDF) software.
Location & Working Hours

Location: Washington, DC. Hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. Flexibility with overtime is required.

Salary

For positions in Washington, DC, the salary range for this job posting is: $80,785.00 - $105,261.00. The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package.
