This is a part-time position, maximum of 20 hours per week, with the Office of the Attorney General.For more information on the Office of the Attorney General, please visithttp://atg.sd.gov.

This position provides administrative support for the attorneys at the Office of Attorney General. It provides secretarial/clerical duties using legal terminology, procedures and documents which includes:

  • typing, proofing, and/or finalizing confidential and sensitive letters, memo, legal documents and legal forms;
  • electronically filing legal documents in the South Dakota and District Courts, and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals;
  • researching information using various sources for legal documents, forms, etc.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • ability to conduct themselves in a professional manner with the public and in an office environment;
  • excellent telephone etiquette;
  • independent work habits that keep them on track;
  • ability to accomplish tasks without direct supervision.

Knowledge of:

  • office practices and procedures;

Skills to:

  • use Microsoft Office products effectively;
  • type at a minimum of 60 words per minute.

Ability to:

  • establish and maintain effective working relationship with office personnel;
  • work independently on assignments with accuracy;
  • pass a background investigation.
Additional Requirements

This position is exempt from the Civil Service Act.
