Job summary

Denver Rescue Mission is seeking a Legacy Giving Officer to secure estate gifts and manage legacy communications. The role reports to the Director of Philanthropy and oversees a program that has averaged $1.8 million in estate distributions.

You will engage with donors, attorneys, CPAs, and financial planners, using Salesforce for tracking and partnering with the Marketing team to craft outreach and events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Finance, Fundraising, or a related field, such as Marketing.
• 2-3 years of prior planned giving fundraising preferred.
• Experience using a donor database or CRM; Salesforce experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops a marketing and communications strategy for securing estate gifts from DRM donors; works with Marketing & Communication team.
• Retains Good Heart Society donors, 500+ households, through communications, visitations and events.
• Establishes annual LG communications plan to confirm donor Legacy Gifts.
• Collaborates with outside vendors for prospect generation and conversions; guides LG options for donors.
• Works with Philanthropy Officers and Donor Relations Officers to communicate LG options.
• Uses Salesforce data to evaluate engagement, campaigns, and progress toward goals.
• Maintains confidential documentation of legacy commitments and endowment gifts.
• Develops relationships with estate attorneys, CPAs, financial planners to cultivate prospects.
