Lecturer/Sub-Lecturer - Medical Laboratory Technician Program
FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Bronx Community College seeks to hire a Lecturer with the ability to teach courses in the Medical Laboratory Technician program who would start in the Fall 2025 semester.
The successful candidate should have the ability to teach Introduction to Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Hematology, and Clinical and Diagnostic Microbiology. Day, evening, and weekend teaching may be required. The successful candidate will have to contribute to curriculum and program development; serve on department, college and university committees; advise and mentor students; and work on other department related projects as needed. Day, evening, weekend, and distance learning classes may be assigned as needed by the department.
Performs teaching and related faculty functions in area(s) of expertise.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science AND/OR current American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) certification at the MLS or MT level, a minimum of 2 years' direct experience in the field, and the ability to teach successfully to a diverse student body in an urban environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree or Ph.D. N.Y.S. Clinical Laboratory Technologist license AND/OR current American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) certification at the MLS. At least 2 years teaching experience. Experience in clinical chemistry, hematology, immunology, transfusion medicine and/or microbiology and parasitology.
COMPENSATION
Salary Range: $52,072 - $92,878. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 6.09% with additional increases of 3.25% effective 9/1/2025 and 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
