Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and teach courses as scheduled under the supervision of the Undergraduate Associate Dean and ASN Coordinator which may include but are not limited to classroom instruction; simulation & skills lab instruction; and clinical teaching.

  2. Carry a faculty teaching load of 12-15 hours per semester (Fall & Spring)

  3. Be available for consultation with students and guide students outside of class for mentoring.

  4. Participate in University Planning Week activities at the onset of fall term as well as other faculty development activities sponsored by the University throughout the year.

  5. Attend the General Faculty Meetings for the University as scheduled on the University Calendar.

  6. Attend SON Faculty Meetings and Committee meetings as assigned.

  7. Actively participate in faculty and assigned committees (University & School of Nursing).

  8. Pursue professional development. Take responsibility for seeking and providing evidence of remaining current in nursing education and area of practice.

  9. Report grades, attendance, evaluation forms, and other information per university and School of Nursing directives.

  10. Follow the University Academic Calendar for holidays, breaks, midterm and final exams.

  11. Report course/clinical issues as needed to the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Nursing Studies.

  12. Communicate with clinical instructors and preceptors prior to the beginning of the course assigned and as applicable throughout the semester to discuss student progress and issues.

  13. Serve as lead faculty in an ASN or BSN course and instruct in the clinical area.

  14. Adhere to the University¿s policies on course evaluations as described in the University Faculty Handbook.

  15. Participate in a minimum of one graduation ceremony each year (Fall or Spring).

  16. Participate in the pinning ceremony

  17. Record and report yearly assessment data and maintain the three- year assessment plan. Assistance will be provided by the ASN/BSN coordinator as needed.

  18. Maintain records for ACEN/CCNE accreditation.

  19. Actively work with the coordinator Student Services Coordinator on yearly admission of ASN/BSN students.

  20. 20. Maintain a range of scholarship, teaching and service activities consistent with the University academic unit¿s policies.

Required Qualifications
  1. Must have a minimum of MSN degree.

  2. Must possess and maintain an unencumbered nursing licensure in Georgia.

  3. Must have at least 2 years of undergraduate education experience.

  4. Must have demonstrated scholarly and leadership contributions relevant to undergraduate nursing education.
