Music Pool
  • Position: Lecturer
  • Academic Year: 2026/2027

The Department of Music at California State University San Marcosaccepts applications on an ongoing basis for our pool of part-timelecturers.

Applicant pools are used to fill short-term temporary Lecturerpositions across our campus with the possibility of rehiring.Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester.Thisapplicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as-neededbasis throughout the academic year. Applications in thispoolad will only be good for the current academic year. Thispoolwill beclosed effective May 31st. If you wish to be considered for thenext academic year, you will need to apply to the newpoolas itbecomes available by June 15th.

Minimum qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Professional experience related to the position
  • Per the California State University’s Out-of-State EmploymentPolicy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to performCSU-related work outside California. Working in the State ofCalifornia is a condition of employment.
Preferred qualifications
  • A Master of Fine Arts, doctorate degree, or equivalent
  • Experience teaching cultural/social somatics in highereducation
  • Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrateintercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campuscommunity as it relates to teaching and, as applicable,service.
Salary commensurate with degree level and experience
  • AnticipatedHiring Salary Range: $5,507 - $8,000 per full-timemonth

The salary schedule information for the Lecturer - Academic YearClassification is available based on the following ranges:

  • CSU Classification Salary RangeLecturer A - AY: $5,507 -$6,677 per full-time month
  • CSU Classification Salary RangeLecturer B - AY: $6,221 -$13,224 per full-time month

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum ofthe appropriate range, commensurate with education andexperience.
