This position is intended for individuals committed to quality physics education and successful applicants must demonstrate exceptional ability and innovation in teaching. Lecturer candidates must have an earned doctorate in Physics, Astronomy, Physics Education or a very closely related field. The successful candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, have strong teaching skills, display a commitment to high-quality professional service, and will actively participate in program and college responsibilities, including service on committees and directing undergraduate research. For this position, preference will be given to candidates with the experience and skills needed to maintain the Louisiana Tech Observatory, teach astronomy and astrophysics courses as well as physics courses, and lead undergraduate and graduate students in astronomy-related research projects.
