JOB DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese at Penn State (University Park) invites applications for a full-time Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor position in Spanish (non-tenure-track), starting Fall 2025, with flexibility.
Responsibilities include teaching introductory language courses. The teaching load is eight hybrid courses per year or equivalent. Onsite teaching is essential. Applicants must have native or near-native fluency in English and Spanish. A minimum of a Master's degree in Spanish or related field is required by the appointment date. Rank depends on education and qualifications. This is a 36-week term appointment with the possibility of renewal.

In the cover letter, candidates are encouraged to highlight experience with online teaching, heritage learners, study abroad programs, course design, and recruitment of majors and minors. Ability to teach Italian courses is highly desirable.
