Position Summary

The Department of Aerospace Engineering in the Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland is searching for a Lecturer in the Mechatronics Engineering Program at the Universities of Shady Grove Campus. This is a full‑time academic year appointment requiring instruction of in‑person lectures, laboratory experiences, and student competition teams. Mentorship of individual students on research projects is also encouraged.

Summer support may be provided for a suitable work activity if program funds are available.

Responsibilities
  • Teach 5–6 courses per academic year in the Mechatronics Engineering (ENMT) program.
  • Develop curriculum, lecture notes, homework, exams, and laboratory modules for assigned courses.
  • Document course materials each semester and archive them in hard copy and electronically.
  • Administer courses through ELMS, complete grading in a timely fashion (final grades within 48–72 hours after the final exam).
  • Support ABET accreditation by providing evaluation materials each semester.
  • Support continuous pedagogical improvement in the ENMT program.
  • Provide advisement to students concerning progress in the curriculum.
  • Act as an effective mentor to students in the ENMT program.
  • Support recruiting initiatives for the ENMT program.

  • Experience teaching at the college/university level in mechatronics and/or robotics.
