Youngstown State University invites applications for a Lecturer, Mathematics and Statistics (Term). The successful candidate will teach a wide range of courses including elementary statistics, college algebra, calculus, and other upper-level mathematics and statistics courses, across face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats.

Teaches a wide range of mathematics and statistics courses, which may include elementary and mathematical statistics, college algebra, quantitative reasoning, calculus, and other advanced mathematics and statistics courses.
Participates in Department, College and University service activities and outreach.
Develops and deliver face-to-face, hybrid, and online instruction in mathematics and statistics.
Coordinates co-requisite and/or service courses in the Department and work with faculty and staff on initiatives to improve student success in mathematics and statistics courses.
Interacts effectively with a diverse population of students and faculty and contribute to the success of the Department by working effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds. Mentor graduate teaching assistants in their course assignments.
Contributes through teaching, scholarship and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the University community.
Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, and the possibility of some weekend days.

Sponsorship and/or Work Authorization Status: Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Minimum Qualifications:At least amaster’s degree in statistics, mathematics, or applied mathematics by the time of appointment; must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications:Three or more years of demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching; Demonstrated ability to teach a wide range of courses in mathematics and statistics including co-requisite courses; Experience teaching calculus and upper-division mathematics and statistics courses; Knowledge of WebAssign, MyLabsPlus/MyMathLab andAssessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces(ALEKS).
Physical Requirements:In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform sedentary work.
Sedentary:work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs may be defined as Sedentary when walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other Sedentary criteria are met.
